ASC Poems

The Brunanburh poem, in it’s most famous form, survives, with minor differences, in a number of Anglo Saxon Chronicle Manuscripts (MS).  MS E & F differ, and MS E is also included here.  Historians debate as to when the poem was included in the text, either as the Chronicles were written, or inserted afterwards to embellish an existing entry.
